A director of Virtu Ferries, which has been earmarked to provide a ferry for the Tobago seabridge, is currently before the courts in bribery and money laundering scandals.
Questioned yesterday on whether any due diligence was done before the ferry Jean De La Valette (JDLV) owned by Virtu Ferries of Malta was deemed suitable and whether he was aware of the court matter, Port Authority chairman Lyle Alexander replied: “I cannot speak to that now.”
